Lauren Townsend

Lauren is a competitive dancer on the Dance Extreme Elite Team and has consistently placed in the top 10 overalls as a soloist the past 5 years.  She has won many scholarships, icon awards, and special judges awards, including the "Inspire Award" at the Streetz Dance Convention, "Total Package Award" at Turn it Up Dance Competition, and the "Leap Above Award" from Leap Dance Competition.  Lauren has also won 4 titles while at Dance Extreme;  Miss Senior Leap, Miss Senior Turn it UP, Miss Teen Leap and Miss Teen Showbiz. 
 
Lauren has trained in all styles of dance and has dedicated many summers to additional training at summer intensives; the Joffrey Ballet and Contemporary Intensive in New York City, the Next Generation Ballet Intensive, Patel Conservatory Popular Dance Intensive, the Patel ConservatoryYouth Ballet Junior Intensive and the Modas Dance Workshop.  Lauren has also devoted many years to performing in Bay City Ballet's Annual Community presentation of the Nutcracker, where she was cast in many supporting roles as well as lead roles such as Clara, Marzipan and Snow Queen. 
 
She was the recipient of the AMDA Summer Intensive Scholarship for High School Students as well as she was awarded "Pro-Reveler" at the Revel National Dance Convention in Orlando. As a "Pro-Reveler " she had the honor of traveling with the Revel Dance Convention , learning from their esteemed faculty and demonstrating choreography on stage during the weekend master classes.  She was a recipient of the 2021 Pinellas County's Walker's Rising Stars College Scholarship for dance.
 
Lauren has been accepted into the University of Tampa's Bachelor of Arts Program as a dance major, where she will continue to pursue her dance training at the college level.  She is so happy to be a part of the Dance Extreme Faculty and can't wait to continue her dance journey by teaching the next generation of artists.
